PHYSICAL MORPHOLOGY | Models

Reverse Model is telling about physical morphology features in Söğütözü. The plot pattern and street pattern are carved.

The other model is related with Armada. While planning Armada Extention a green axis was envisaged to support green areas and pedestrian road. This green axis reached Konya yolu and Tobb ETU. But it was not constructed completely.

ARMADA | Analyses and Precedents

The studio work with group and as a contribution to group work, each group focused on some building in our site Söğütözü. Some analyses and information contributing term project came out. As a plan update and physical morphology group, we worked on Armada and Armada extension for architectural types and urban typologies on the location.

TERM PROJECT | EMSALSİZ: Without Measure Without Precedent

In the first semester of the fourth year design studio the topic has been chosen that to introduce the challenges that the contemporary urban condition imposes on architecture by conceptualising the word emsalsiz. The word emsalsiz is used in two senses. The first is originally an urban transformation projects this ratio. The second meaning of emsalsiz we may prefer to this meaning of emsalsizlik that is without precedent.

After studying some analyses, the outcomes of these analyses will be taken as the basis for the definition of the program of the second assignment where a specific plot within the larger district is given as the project site; the site of the OYAK Renault factories in Söğütözü. In phase 3 the students will propose their urban strategy to develop the site towards the public integration of the whole district and write a program for the assigned emsal.

As an introduction to term exercise, groups will focus on mapping and debate on the main concepts of the project:

  • geomorphology and landscaping
  • mobility and access
  • plan update and physical morphology
  • land-use, functions and viability
  • boundaries and security
  • silhouette and site elevation/sections
